As part of our evolving digital marketing strategy, we decided to become a member of ‘Visit Somerset’ last year. As a luxury bath and body care brand based in South West England, we weren’t really sure what to expect from the DMO (Destination Management Organisation), but were keen to build more local connections.

To our surprise, we were welcomed with open arms by the extremely charismatic John Turner, CEO. Since the very first meeting in Clutton (North Somerset), it was apparent this was going to be a long-term partnership. Sharing our passion for Somerset, we now consider ourselves not just business associates but good friends.

 

Membership

 

The initial benefit of our membership included a listing on the Visit Somerset website, where we were able to offer discounts and news, such as our annual warehouse sale in the UK. There are various levels of membership and although we started small, we’re now keen to invest more. We are continually amazed by the energy and commitment that team puts into getting our beautiful English county firmly on the map.

 

Events

 

Chairman Sakina and I have attended multiple events organised by Visit Somerset. All of which have been interesting in terms of content and networking opportunities. As a result, we have since been in discussions with various local businesses regarding collaborations; including new product lines and promotions.

 

 

Visit Somerset organise various seminars and training events, designed to up-skill and connect their members. The team are also able to support in terms of PR and brand awareness, e-mail campaigns and social media coverage.
