We’re a green-fingered bunch here at The Somerset Toiletry Company. We love nothing more than getting back to nature and getting stuck into a bit of gardening. There’s nothing more rewarding that putting in time, love and attention to build your own floral wonderland.
We took to Pinterest to harvest some great hints and tips. While we were there we found a sprinkling of inspiration to help your garden flourish.
We love this idea, and it’s great if you’ve got an old bike rusting away, or know someone who does. Click here to see how one person utilized their old bicycle by planting a bouquet of flowers in the basket.
Here’s a handy hint, and perfect if you love fresh ground coffee! Once you’ve poured your nice hot cup of coffee, don’t throw the used grounds away. Use them in your garden – they are rich in nutrients and can also be used as a snail and slug deterrent.
If you’re not a fan of coffee, but want to check out how well this works, it’s worth checking with your local coffee shop. Many coffee shops and cafes actually save up their coffee grounds and give them to gardeners for free. Otherwise it would just end up in a landfill.
If you’re tight on space, why not go vertical? All you need is a few plant pots and a pole. It’s a great space-saver, simple to do and looks great – click here to see an example.
Do you want to liven up your garden and help put a spring in your step? Here’s a gorgeous idea to inject a bit of colour into what could otherwise be a plain pathway. Click here to see how broken dishes or china can be used to create stylish stepping-stones. If you don’t have any old cups and saucers lying around the house, you’re sure to be able to pick some up for a reasonable price in a thrift store.
Tending to your garden is great fun, but all that hard work can take its toll on your skin. We want to make sure your skin is nurtured as much as your garden is, so we’ve introduced a range for everyone who loves gardening as much as we do.
Click here to see our Gardeners Therapy collection. Packed full of rejuvenating ingredients to help replenish your skin, they’re made with the oils of spearmint, rosemary and juniper, giving them a fresh, herbaceous fragrance.
